The Challenge

Coastal and ecologically sensitive areas face a growing conflict between environmental preservation and operational needs. Traditional lighting along roads, walkways, and facilities often creates excessive glare and short-wavelength light that disrupts natural ecosystems. In particular, artificial nighttime lighting can disorient endangered sea turtle hatchlings and other wildlife, drawing them away from natural paths and toward danger.

 

At the same time, these environments still require dependable lighting to support public safety, visibility, and security—placing facilities and municipalities under pressure to modernize without compromising environmental responsibility.

The Solution

LED Connection delivered a wildlife-friendly lighting approach built around dual-spectrum technology, smart controls, and custom-engineered infrastructure. Amber lighting is used to minimize ecological impact during sensitive nighttime hours, while white light is available when higher visibility is required. Bluetooth-enabled controls allow operators to remotely dim, schedule, and adjust lighting in real time, reducing energy consumption and unnecessary light output. Custom pole designs ensure the system integrates seamlessly into coastal environments while meeting aesthetic, technical, and durability requirements.
